My dog ​​died, and as a tribute, I tried to paint him. However, allow me to elucidate our complex relationship. Although he never caused us the slightest trouble and was unfailingly loyal, he was always resistant to any form of training.

From cradle to grave, he obeyed only his own instincts. As a result, he hardly deserved affection in our eyes. Throughout his existence, we have strived to remind him of his shortcomings, his imperfections, his relative uselessness, especially in comparison to our other dogs, who are much more docile and efficient.

But the irony remains that despite our sometimes harsh treatment, he remained undiminished with gentleness and kindness towards us.

To you, my faithful companion, whom I have always found difficult to cherish.
