Gabriel has always thought a lot.

Sometimes too much.

Years pass

and thoughts pile up

like invisible layers.

That's why this portrait is painted on wood.

A living material, marked by time,

which retains the traces of what it goes through.

Charcoal draws the dark areas.

Like moments when the mind becomes heavy.

Natural pigments blend with the material,

simply, without trying to hide imperfections.

Because faces,

like lives,

are built with their marks.

Gabriel doesn't really look straight ahead.

He looks inside.

And sometimes,

that's where the real answers appear.
