Materials used: Wood and natural pigments (wine, ochres, charcoal, carrot)
André once believed
that one had to move fast.
Then life slowed him down.
So I chose wood.
A living material, marked by time.
Its lines are never straight,
like the paths of an existence.
Charcoal draws the cracks.
The moments when everything could have broken.
But which, on the contrary, gave it relief.
Wine colors certain areas.
Like the years that pass,
leaving a trace.
There is also ochre,
and simple, almost raw pigments.
Modest materials,
but deeply alive.
André is not a smooth face.
He is a face that has learned
to stand tall.
If this portrait speaks to you,
it may be because it resembles
certain years of your own story.
